I had a fantastic 2 nights stay here at the end of Feb. It's a really lovely place with fantastic staff and comfy rooms with power showers and lots of high quality amenities. Breakfast was incredibly good value and super tasty. Outside of breakfast, the menu is excellent, both lunch and dinner, plus the cake from behind the bar was delicious! Cracking value and ideally located for beautiful walks around the area.

Just returned from a 2 night stay and I have to say what a delightful place this is. After a long journey it was lovely to be welcomed with a welcome smile and cheery hello. We stayed in Room 10 on the ground floor and couldn’t be happier with the size and cleanliness and such a good night's sleep on the comfy bed. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice including Eggs Benedict or Scrambled Egg with Smoked Salmon along with a great Full English Breakfast. We ate in the bar in the evening and can highly recommend the great pies. Parking is just over the road and the pub is located perfectly for exploring Castleton and Mam Tor. Thank you for making our mini break a great one.

What a lovely Inn. Great traditional atmosphere with old beams along the ceiling. Friendly and helpful staff with a good selection of ales/beers and wines. The food is also very good and set at a reasonable price. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Amazing food, we had the innkeeper pie as we do everytime we come. It's our favourite and definitely recommended. Great location for a stroll up mam tor with a warm fire to come back to. Staff are always welcoming, especially Amanda who always makes us feel welcome.

We had a lovely meal here! We were a group of 9 (eventually only 8 of us made it) and they were so accommodating and friendly. The guy behind the bar in the pink t-shirt was such a laugh and poured a good local pint. The ladies serving us were kind and warm and the food was absolutely exceptional! I had the steak and Ale pie with chips and it was beautiful with lovely gravy! Every member of our party was impressed by the food and the warmth and charm of the staff and the beautiful old building! Will definitely be back next time we're up in Castleton! Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable . We will certainly be back again .
